An imposing Byzantine castle, built in the 13th century, which successfully resisted the Turkish siege in 1571. It is located on a 330 m high slope and offers magnificent view.

It is a centuries old picturesque village with a single lane road running through it. From Bella Vista point it offers an excellent view of Paleokatritsa’s five bays and the west coastline of the island.

The landscape is enchanting. Besides the main beach, there are paths leading to smaller bays, appropriate for swimming. Paleokastritsa is chiefly memorable for the exceptional scenery along with the superb beaches. The cool crystal waters are ideal for swimming. You can prolong the duration of the excursion, so that you can taste the sea food. There are also boats awaiting for you, to take you to the various sea grottos scattered along the coastline.

We start our tour by driving to the hilltop village of Pelekas which is famous for its views across Corfu. Between 1908 and the First World War the German Kaiser, Wilhelm, spent his summers at Achilleion Palace on the east coast of Corfu.

Achilleon Palace was built between the years 1890 and 1892 by the Empress Elizabeth of Austria (known as Sissy) in the hilltop village of Gastouri. This large building, in neoclassical style, has three floors adorned with many statues and paintings.
The gardens surrounding the building run down to the coast road and offer a wonderful view of a large part of the island. They are filled with many statues, the most famous of which are two bronze runners, the dying Achilles and the statue of Achilles Triumphant.
After the assassination of Empress Elizabeth in 1898 in Geneva, Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany purchased the palace in 1907 and used it as a place for relaxation. All of the rooms contain personal items of the former owners and their original furniture.
His favourite trip was to Pelekas to watch its magnificent sunsets. Here, an easily accessed observation point offers probably the best panoramic views to be found anywhere in Corfu. This spot, on the rock summit above the village, is still known today as “Kaisers Throne”, and you too can enjoy the breathtaking view of the island spread out below.

It is probably the most photographed and visited Corfiot landmark. The 17th century chapel turned into convent is devoted to Virgin Mary Vlacherna and stands on a little rocky island close to the southern tip of the Kanoni peninsula.
Pontikonissi, It is open to the public all year round and everybody can enjoy its beauty and tranquillity. It is a picturesque isle just off the coast of Corfu. Boats depart frequently to the isle to visit the Byzantine church and sit in the cafe that is located amongst the trees.

Mon Repos is a villa on the island of Corfu, Greece. It lies south of Corfu City in the forest of Palaeopolis.
The villa was built as a summer residence for the British Lord High Commissioner of the United States of the Ionian Islands. After the union with Greece in 1864, the villa was granted to King George I of the Hellenes as a summer residence; he renamed it “Mon Repos” (French for “My Rest”). The royal family used it as a summer residence up until King Constantine II fled the country in 1967. Several royal births have taken place at the villa, including those of Princess Sophie of Greece and Denmark on 26 June 1914,[1]Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh on 10 June 1921, and Princess Alexia of Greece and Denmark on 10 July 1965. Philip was born “on the dining room table”.

Spianada is the main square of the town and the central meeting spot for locals and visitors. It was constructed to resemble the European Royal Gardens. It is the largest square in the Balkans and one of the largest in Europe. During the summer months all 18 philarmonic bands of the island, take their turn to perform at the Palco (Bandstand).

Corfu Golf Club

The Corfu Club’s beautiful course has been praised by many as one of golf’s best kept secrets in Europe. It was designed by the famous Swiss based architect, Donald Harradine and he has blended the natural resources of the lovely Ropa Valley including the river of Nafsika (Odysseus was rescued by Princess Nafsika at its exit on Ermones beach), with man made hazards to make the course a good but fair test. It is as enjoyable for the scratch player as it is for the long handicap one.
The tree lined fairways and the sand traps combine with the several lakes and meandering streams, to make an attractive picture against a backcloth of high hills. A magical place full of animals and birds (kingfishers, herons, otters, fish). There are three sets of tees thus providing enjoyment for all categories of players.

Corfu shopping (return transfer)

Shopping in Corfu
Despite the long tourist season and the large number of visitors, Corfu retains an old-fashioned charm in the practice of retail, without having embraced large shopping malls but supporting many small and independent stores. The locals will fill their bicycle baskets with their daily purchases and many will enter the Old Town following their carts. Very small businesses need to build and maintain a reputation based on good faith and even friendship between sellers and buyers. The weather and pace of life dictate that opening hours are usually broken for the afternoon siesta, although in recent years, during the summer months, many stores remain open for sixteen or more hours a day.
Some quarters are distinguished by the concentration of shops and stores in the same industry: blacksmiths and hardware suppliers are located in Evraike (the old Jewish quarter). The flea market provides fresh vegetables, fruits and fish. Some streets in the Old Town are each made of leather, olive wood or religious icons and objects of faith. Young people apply their talent and creativity to the introduction of new shops selling handicrafts, as well as farm and beauty products from sustainable local sources. Shopping in Corfu, both in the Old Town and in the modern district, is pleasant in variety and convenience.
The old port ,Spilia Square, is our arrival and departure point.
